Description
A 3-axle detachable gooseneck lowbed trailer—also called an RGN (Removable Gooseneck) lowboy—is a heavy-haul semi-trailer built to move equipment that standard flatbeds simply cannot handle. The front gooseneck detaches completely and hydraulically lowers to the ground, turning the trailer itself into a drive-on ramp. That means your excavator, bulldozer, or crawler crane rolls directly onto the deck from the front; no external ramps or crane assist is required.

Why Choose a Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck Lowboy Over Standard Options?
The Problem with Rear-Loading Trailers
Loading a 45-ton excavator over the back of a standard lowbed means fighting a steep ramp angle, limited traction, and a high center of gravity before the machine even clears the ground. One miscalculation and you’re looking at damaged undercarriages, tipped loads, or worse—injured operators.
How the Detachable Gooseneck Solves It
With our hydraulic detachable gooseneck system, the neck separates from the main deck and lowers until the front of the trailer kisses the dirt. Your operator drives the machine straight forward onto a nearly flat surface. Once loaded, the neck lifts, reattaches, and locks into place with an automatic alignment groove—no manual blocking, no pry bars, no second-guessing.

Heavy-Duty Construction That Outlasts the Road
Main Beam — The Backbone
The main beam uses Q345B/Q460C high-tensile structural steel with a welded I-beam profile. Upper plate thickness runs 14–25mm, middle plate 8–12mm, lower plate 16–25mm, with overall beam height from 450mm to 520mm depending on your payload requirement. That is the kind of structure that laughs at corrugated haul roads and doesn’t flinch when you load a 70-ton mining truck.
Gooseneck & Front Loading Ramp
The detachable gooseneck is reinforced with double-layer plating at stress points and integrates a hydraulic power station (12KW diesel engine) for independent neck operation. The front ramp section is built from high-strength steel with a tapered profile—thick enough to take the full weight of tracked equipment without deforming.
Platform Deck The cargo floor uses 5–7mm diamond-pattern steel plate over reinforced cross members. Side beams are 16–25mm channel steel. The result? A deck that doesn’t flex under concentrated loads and gives your chains and binders something solid to bite into.
Suspension & Axles
Three axles rated at 13T or 16T each (FUWA, BPW, or YORK brand) give you a combined axle capacity well above your 60–80 ton target payload. Choose between heavy-duty mechanical suspension for mining environments or air-ride suspension for smoother transport of sensitive equipment. Either way, the multi-leaf spring setup (8/8/8 or 10/10/10 configuration) absorbs shock and keeps your load stable over rough terrain.

3-Axle Lowbed Trailer vs Flatbed Trailer — Which Do You Actually Need?
If you’re hauling steel beams, lumber, or palletized cargo, a flatbed is fine. But if your equipment has tracks, tires taller than a man, or a boom that scrapes the sky, a standard flatbed becomes a liability.

The math is simple: if your cargo drives itself and weighs more than a loaded dump truck, you need a lowbed. And if you load that cargo more than once a month, you need the detachable gooseneck.
